Switzerland
Bill moved to Zurich in around September 1994, to start a contract with Credit Suisse. He had a pleasant studio flat in Brahmsstrasse 138 (?) which I visited a couple of times (including once on the way back from Milan - the flight supplement was only about £6).

I remember walking up the Uetliberg (near his flat) with snow on the ground and sledges coming towards us (probably in January 1995).

Unfortunately the project he was working on was cancelled in mid-1995, so he had a period of uncertainty before securing a contract with SYAP, who were working in Bern on the Swiss Postal Savings Bank's Sybase replication server.

SYAP had some problems securing a work permit - they finally did so in Brunnen (their office address?), hence he had (but hardly used) a flat in this quiet lakeside town. He stayed in Bern in a flat over a shop on ??, whose owners were touring South America.

This project delivered in late 1996, so Bill decided to return to the UK.
