Bill started at Exeter in Autumn 1972. I'm not sure why he particularly picked Exeter,
though Mum and Dad had bought their holiday bungalow in Sennen, Cornwall by that time.
He soon became involved in the O.O.D.S (Out Of Doors Society), which organised walks
on Dartmoor and other hills nearby.
I think he was in a hall of residence for all 3 years. I didn't visit him in
Exeter during his time there, though always met up with him in the holidays (often in Sennen).
On graduating, he decided to continue his academic studies, by becoming a research assistant at Dundee University.
